Celebrate Paris Cocktail Week at Some of the City's Coolest Bars
In celebration of Paris cocktail week, taking place January 20-28, here's a guide to some of my favorite places to grab a drink.
1. Take you back in time: Lulu White
Lulu White is located in northern Paris, just a hop, skip and a jump from the metro station, Pigalle. It’s an area I’d call seedy-chic. Historically, the Pigalle area has been associated with Paris’s Red Light District. Over the past few years, trendy bars and restaurants have been popping up in the neighborhood and it's been attracting city-dwellers from the Left Bank, like myself.
Address: 12 Rue Frochot, 75009 Paris
2. Romantic: Le Très Particulier
This place is a true gem. As priceless as it is hidden, Le Très Particulier is an insider's spot so if you arrive and are looking for a sign - you won’t find one. It’s tucked away from street view and when you type the address into Google Maps, it may lead you astray. The easiest way to describe the entrance: if you're facing the restaurant Marcel, go to the left and you'll find a gate. Ring the large button on the keypad for admittance.
Address: 23 Avenue Junot, 75018 Paris
3. Hipster: Le Perchoir Marais
There are two locations, one in the 11th arrondissement, Le Perchoir, one in the 4th arrondissement, Le Perchoir Marais. Both are known for their fabulous views, solid cocktails, and chill vibes. But I'm partial to Le Perchoir Marais.
Address: 33 Rue de la Verrerie, 75004 Paris
4. Super sexy: Les Bains
The bar at Hotel Les Bains is home to a super sexy interior (think deep reds and great floral arrangements) and a delicious drink menu. Bonus: there’s a nightclub in the basement.
Address: 7 Rue du Bourg l'Abbé, 75003 Paris
5. Parisian classic: Prescription Cocktail Club
The Prescription Cocktail Club, located on Rue Mazarine in the chic 6th arrondissement never disappoints with its creative cocktail menu and low lighting. Beware, the place gets busy. The earlier you go, the better.
Address: 23 Rue Mazarine, 75006 Paris
